There are houses in the mountains that you’ll remember forever. Chalet Chiarina is designed to be one of these. The new entry of The M Legacy is situated on land reclaimed from the ski run, in the heart of Breuil-Cervinia: over 1,000m² spread over four floors, 6 suites with en-suite bathrooms, an entire floor dedicated to wellness, and the main ski lifts just 150m from the front door. In the morning, light streams in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting the outline of the Matterhorn onto the oak floor; in the kitchen, the chef has already turned on the oven to bake bread. Chalet Chiarina can be booked in its entirety from the 2026/2027 season onwards and can accommodate up to 14 people. The day always begins with the aroma of coffee and freshly baked bread wafting up to the mezzanine of the bar. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and, six evenings out of seven, dinner prepared by the private chef. A menu tailored to your tastes, featuring produce from the Aosta Valley and a selection of wines.
A floor with panoramic views and an exclusive wellness area: Finnish sauna, steam bath, sensory shower, fully equipped gym, and massage room. In the evening, when the mountain peaks are tinged with pink, you walk through the heated passageway to the 6-metre outdoor pool with a counter-current swim and a whirlpool.
Here you’ll find a chalet manager, a chef, a host, and a daily housekeeping service. The conciergeservice can book transfers for you from the five airports serving Breuil-Cervinia, reserve tables at the mountain huts in Plan Maison and Plateau Rosa, and arrange ski instructors in four languages. Breakfast is served in the lounge from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The coffee is ready, the bread is warm, and on the chopping board there’s fresh Fontina cheese from the Rosset dairy and rhododendron honey from the Val d’Ayas valley. Out there, the Matterhorn is calling you. Downstairs, in the ski room, your boots are already warmed up and ready for your next adventure.
From the entrance to the main lifts at Cervino Ski Paradise, there are 150 metres of groomed snow. The ski area boasts 350km of slopes accessible with a single ski pass, stretching from Italy all the way to Zermatt, and is crowned by the Piccolo Cervino (3,883m), the highest ski lift in Europe. No buses, no queues.
Today we’re having lunch in one of the ski area’s historic mountain huts, which the concierge has booked for us. Served at your table is “polenta concia” topped with melted Fontina cheese, accompanied by a glass of Torrette DOC from the Aosta Valley. An unrivalled culinary experience amidst spectacular mountains.
Those who don’t ski can cross the border via the Matterhorn link: the cable car takes you to Zermatt in around 35 minutes. The town has been car-free since 1961: you can spend the morning browsing the shop windows in the town centre, take the historic railway up to the Gornergrat (3,089m), and be back in Italy in time for an aperitif.
In the Finnish sauna, the temperature rises to 85°C and the air is scented with Swiss stone pine. In the steam bath, the scent of eucalyptus fills your lungs with your very first breath. Then you can take a dip in the outdoor pool, heated to 34°C, and admire the Matterhorn in all its majesty.
A cosy dining room with a single large table seating 14 people. Val d’Ayas chestnut cream, tagliolini with brown butter and Fontina cheese, and Valdostan carbonade: the dishes prepared by the chef allow you to savour all the flavours of the Aosta Valley. Amidst laughter and the crackling of the fire, enjoy a dinner to remember.
A game of billiards and a final glass of wine, a film in the TV room, and a breath of fresh air on the balcony to admire the starry sky over Cervinia. The constellations are so clear that you can count them one by one. Then there’s your suite, the soft, fragrant sheets, and the silence of the mountains.

Chalet Chiarina stands on land reclaimed from the ski run: you can strap on your skis right outside the front door and you’re already in the ski area. The Matterhorn Ski Paradise stretches out before you: 350km of slopes accessible with a single ski pass, stretching from Italy all the way to Zermatt, with some of the best snow in the Alps and Europe’s highest ski lift at the Klein Matterhorn (3,883m). In winter, you can go skiing, try heliskiing, explore the glacier on snowshoes, or whizz along on a dog sledge. In summer, the area takes on a whole new look: glacier skiing, hiking, mountain biking, climbing, paragliding, and via ferrata. The centre of Breuil-Cervinia is just a hundred metres away – there’s plenty to explore.
